Post of the Day -
Yep - the dive charter in California is so successful and such a moneymaker that it has all but collapsed here.

You can still take a 3 tank trip to Catalina for the money you paid in 2001.

Equipment - most people don't really know how to research the technical ins and outs of what they really need for recreational diving in local areas - therefore, they tend to be the people PT Barnum talked about - nuff said.

Learn to service and maintain your own gear, especially your regulators - for some reason, that philosophy fell out of favor some 40 odd years ago. The money you save is substantial over time.

Cert agencies are a business? Really? Ok, that trend started in the mid 1970's - Tell us something we don't know. What does that have to do with me? - they know better than to try me ;-)

OP: Don't do anything rash, have a cocktail and relax. If you sell all your gear, you're going to regret it in 6 months. JMHO

Ken Kurtis is greedy. LOL. Poor Ken is the dive community punching bag around here - so very odd
