there could have been a small cyclonic event that passed thru the immediate area. the wind could have been excellorated due to the shape of the building and direction of the wind in relation to the instrument... those cameras usually take a snapshot, as noted by the frequency in which they are updated. that reading could have been taken at the peak moment of the event. (or someone could have been up there messing with it:)

there are a few other examples of ground effect being so bad as to render the station useless. Santa Barbara Island, Santa Rosa Island, Avalon and Pt. Vincente, come to mind.

Today everything is coming from the south and east. A tough go no matter what island you are at;
a good day to be at home... :)
