If the captain cancels the trip, about half the people with bitch and moan. If the captain goes ahead with a rough crossing, about half the people will bitch and moan and some will puke. Dive boat captains are in a really tough spot when it comes to this decision. Cut them some slack and support their decisions. I also agree with Elaine's post 100% - this is CA diving and there are no gaurantees on weather.
The other solution is to buy your own dive boat. You can call the shots yourself for the low, low price of somewhere between $20K-$120K for a small boat and $500/mo operating costs :-)
