Hi Guys,
Did anyone else see the footage of the White Shark on the news tonight. A local orthodontist was on his 30+ ft boat somewhere between Catalina and Santa Barbara Island fishing for yellowtail when he came across birds working the water. He ventured a little closer and found a white shark munching on a seal or sea lion carcass. The shark approached the stern of the boat, took a little nibble, and then splashed its tail. It was a reported 15' long and 5' wide and there were several good shots in the footage.
My pucker factor kicked in when I thought back to a trip on the Bree Marie last year. We came upon some birds working the water along with fish and dolphins jumping. Several of us jumped in and swam over towards the mass of animals to see what all the fuss was about. I'm glad it wasn't a white shark eating a dead sea lion :-) That would have been scary!
