So what would happen if these places stopped renting equipment? Divers might have to blame themselves! I was listening to some divers tell stories about a trip to Cozumel where a woman died because "her BC filled with water when she jumped in and she sank and drowned." Now I didn't quite understand how that could be realistic unless she was massively overweighted. My BC gets water in it...I have to empty it at the end of the day...but I never sink. I doubted the reliability of this particular story.

But..doesn't it just figure. Another lawsuit. How are these resolved? Rarely do I ever see an update or settlement. Am I just not looking in the right place?

I told my husband "If I ever die diving, please don't sue anyone." He kindly informed me he'd upped my life insurance when I'd started diving, he wouldn't need to sue. :) (I hope he was kidding..)
