We did most of our looking in the 40-50ft range and were a little gun-shy about getting into shallower water after getting tossed around so much on the backside. Yes, the large boulders at Black Rock make for some impressively deep crevices - I see how the bugs can get big - as long as they don't wander into a trap at night or run into a really large octopus life's got to be good for lobsters there.
