It is just that Ken has some level of celebrity status and we all like to tease him.
He is very active in the local diving community, was instrumental in getting divers back to the oil rigs after 911, volunteers his time and talents for non-profit establishments that benefit all of us divers and non-divers in So Cal, is opinionated, has the nicest guy around as a business partner, is opinionated, fills tanks for free (but his store is way out of the way so I cannot use his air), lives a clean - NITROX FREE - life, has strong opinions, gives away beach diving instruction for free, freely tells his opinions, while not a lawyer - he has played on on TV, told me the weather for years on TV, and he takes a joke really well.
This time of year when the Chamber Day activities are underway, he hustles and hassles the community for support of a worthy institution. We all have fun with him, and we all have fun because of him. It is good-natured ribbing.
As to your getting annon-type remarks, hey a bunch of nitrogen-crazed divers hang arouond here. And a bunch of smart aleks we are too. It is nothing personal, just a result of low PPN2 we have to deal with when we are at the surface.
