I actually specialize in mangroves. lol. They have that reputation though, down by the coast in southern California, frosts are rare, and mangroves can tolerate frost. Mangroves are able to survive Californias climate. And the Avicennia marina. var resinfera used to be naturalized in San Diego, but they tookaway most of it, but I don't know if they got rid of all of it, because they said some was left in south san diego bay. Rhizophora mangle are also able to survive there, but not thrive. BUt Avicennia is what I am talking about.
