1) Oly housings are good, although finding one now might be hard. Some people, including me, hjave experienced some leaking through the mode control opening.... Ross' version doesn't have that control. I used various ones on several hundred dives. Well made.

2) Digital cameras use a preflash (a short burst sent to the flash) for exposure. Strobes on that camera system read optically, i.e. not via a sync cord but through a fiber optic cable. Problem is the strobe sees and fires on the pre flash, can't recharge fast enough to fire on the real flash.

Your strobes don't account for the preflash. You can, however, send the strobes to Ikelite and they can wire them so they wil read the preflash. I think $50 per or something like that. Certainly cheaper than new strobes. Email ikelite directly and they will let you know specifics.
