We drove up to Monterey one April to experience the reported great diving. I was sadly disappointed - the urchins, clams, abalone...were all gone. There were lots of starfish and anemones, but they are probably not part of the SO's diet.
I'm saddened to think about what man has done to upset the population equilibria in the oceans. We killed the sharks that eat the sealions that eat the fish...
