I think we have found the very basic difference in our point of views.

You want to know who benefits. You see no benefit; therefore, the animals and plants that do not benifit you are somehow pests.

Well, I don't believe there must always be a human benefit.

That said, fisheries are certainly not shut down in otter areas. Fish, remember?

By the way, I graduated from UCSC in 1975. Maybe by some weird quirk of fate we were classmates!
