Phil, Mark, Tom and I met at Cabrillo Marina at 4:30PM for a quick trip to Catalina on Wed night for one last bug dive. We were underway by 4:45 and the crossing was beautiful. We were headed for Hen Rock and it was clear enough that we could see the island as we left Angels Gate. The crossing was flat and we were greeted by dolphins about mid channel. All of us were in the water within a few minutes of setting the hook at Hen Rock. I spent about an hour at depths from 0-40. I got one about 4-5 lbs and another that was probably 3 lbs (I'm guessing here b/c I didn't have a scale). The water felt warm we had about 30-40' of viz. As soon as everyone was back we pulled the hook and headed for home. Again the crossing was beautiful and our dolphin friends escorted us much of the way home. We were back at the dock by 10:30 PM.

The story doesn't end there. Last night Beth and I had our friends Chris and Samantha over for dinner. We had steamed lobster tail (fresh from Wed night), steak, grilled veggies, a nice salad, and wine. We enjoyed pecan pie and margaritas for dessert. Life is good.

Cheers,
Ross
