Great campgrounds.
Not too far of a drive north.
One of the nicest spots in Sonoma County for scuba. (The others are Salt Point and Stillwater.)
Good beach for launching boats or kayaks. If you own a yak definitely bring it.
Good restaurants and lodging nearby as well.
The only downside is that there are occasionally spearfishing contests held there as well. You will want to check the schedule at the store where you pay the fee.
