I have not been there recently. About five years ago I did go there with a friend from work who was a new diver, and very scared. They assigned her to a "beginning" boat and she received a LOT of help from a DM during all dives. As far as I could tell, the "beginners" boat went to good dive sites so they weren't at all deprived. There was just more supervision and assistance available to the divers and the dives went at a toned down pace.

I don't know if all of the resort operations do things this way, you might want to check ahead and look for a place that does. On some of the advanced boats you are pretty much on your own.
