Fortunately, MOST of the time the viz is great from the surface to the reef and the temp is high 70's, low 80's. If the surface current is greater than at depth, descend slowly against the current just enough to keep up with the group below. Worked for the buddy I dove with, my recently certified daughter 16 years ago ;-)
