Wow! That's amazing video. I'd always suspected that the octopus was a lot further down the evolutionary road that we give it credit for.
I've seen other videos showing large octopi radically change their skin texture, body markings and coloration to match their surroundings, in just a fraction of a second. I don't think there is a computer+LCD currently available that could match that level of high-speed performance.
