"Right off the coast of Rum Point a 30-foot long crack has opened in
the ocean floor and surrounding it are hot, red corals all of which
are being viewed as puzzling and potentially dangerous by local and
overseas experts..."
The crack is apparently in very shallow water (15-18ft), and the "red
coral" appears to be some sort of chemically-caused discoloration.
Wasn't there something like this found off PV 20 years ago?
