I feel it would affect the diving community and sport for people like me who mainly shore dive off California (my handle lagdivr is short for laguna diver). Sadly though, it seems this may be in our future because history shows us that as time goes by we, as Americans, become more litigous. This suit, if won, would set a bad precedence. If your're on a boat dive you have to sign a waiver for the boat so adding a buddy waiver seems in line. But I just cant see buddies signing waivers on the hood of their cars while suiting up to dive Shaw's cove.
