I am going to give more questions than answers unfortunately...

First, why film? Can I assume you are new to UW photography? The learning curve with film is brutal. With digital, you can learn on each dive, and improve by leaps and bounds simply by looking at the LCD on the camera.

Second, there are a few options available in the digital category that are not MUCH more than the system you have asked about. The Fuji 810 comes to mind. This camera can offer anything you might ever need in a camera, and has an available housing in the less than $200 range. Making a startup kit about $500 for a camera you could be happy with for years to come.

Also, if you are truly new to this "photo thing", you might want to spend some time at www.digitaldiver.net. The pool of knowledge is amazing.

Not saying it isn't here, but this group has more generic interests!

My humble $.02.
