About 15 years ago I spent a couple of weekends on an evidence search there- Mostly wading with metal detectors but some diving.

Water quality there is pretty bad, visibility was less than a foot. We had to have the local fire dept. standing by to wash us down as soon as we got out.

Several people that didn't didn't do immediate washdowns ended up repairing/rebuilding gear due to the water there.

If I were doing that dive today I'd consoder the minimum gaer configuration to be a dry suit with attached hood, dry glove system and a full face mask.
