Ross, you're correct. That's one of the skills that many of us take for granted because we tell ourselves it's so simple, we couldn't possibly screw it up. I've only practiced an OOA drill all the way to the surface twice outside of classes. It should be second nature and an easy drill, but you never know when you or your buddy could be close to a panic situation. The only time I can remember being scared in the water was at the end of our last dive when that stick was coming to get me. :-)
