SUBJECT: California Ocean Protection Council responds to members of Congress on pending energy bill
The California Ocean Protection Council took action at its first meeting on March 21, 2005 to respond to the March 15 letter from Congressional representatives Henry Waxman, Lois Capps, Anna Eshoo, and Hilda Solis to council chair, Secretary for Resources Mike Chrisman. The council submitted a letter to these members of Congress on April 4, which addresses its concerns regarding the need to maintain strong ocean and coastal protection measures in the pending national energy bill.
