Those boats can be powered with single outboard in a motorwell, single or twin outboards on the transom or on an engine bunk attached to the back of the transom, gas or diesel I.O., gas or diesel V drive, gas or diesel direct drive, gas jet.

Personally, for a boat that gets trailered, big 4 stroke outboard(s) - Yamaha.

Those dories work great up on the North Coast because they handle rough water good and I can go up almost any river and out almost any ramp or lack of ramp (beach) provided my 4x4 can get the trailer down there.
