Dump the "pony" cluster.

Get yourself and your team mate proper training and practice S drills on every dive to keep your skills fresh, it takes about 30 seconds.

Then dive with out the drag, trim issues, entanglement hazards, failure points etc. etc. of the "pony" cluster.
