Hey everybody. I have been free diving and SCUBA diving my entire life. We lobster dive and ab dive every year. For some reason though, I have a fear of the water this year. My family is going this weekend off the coast of Northern California....more specifically, the Sea Ranch coast. We go to the same spot every year. I have been experiencing bad feelings about potential great white shark attacks. The Sea Ranch area seems to have less sightings and less reported attacks than further up the coast, mainly off Mendocino County. Last year a diver lost his life in Ft. Bragg because of a great white while he was ab diving.
Now, we usually go in the fall, but decided to try April this year.
Thoughts? Comments? Does anybody know if the seals are birthing right now? I know that tends to attract sharks.

Thanks for any encouragement or cautions you can give me.

Signed-

The paranoid diver. :)
Patty
