I was in Truk at the beginning of February.
We stayed on the Odyssey and at the Blue Lagoon hotel. I SAW the Trukstop hotel and it is a pure dive and didn't appear all that safe. You might want to think twice about using that hotel. If you want to do a land based operation I strongly recommend the Blue Lagoon. Also, remember they have limited internet access on the island. We heard lots of stories about waiting weeks for emails from the boat crew and hotel staff.
You will LOVE the wreck diving in Truk.
