This is the same CF&G Department that threatened to arrest me for "disturbing a commercial fishing operation" when I reported to the Sacramento office (since I couldn't contact anyone down here) a string of (poacher) lobster traps off Long Beach in July. I told them that I had opened the traps and released the bugs, and gave them GPS on the location...
We finally got it worked out, but the original response from F&G was unexpected and disheartening, to say the least.
No good deed goes unpunished...
