Did find that before starting training as a PADI Divemaster you are supposed to have 20 logged dives...no mention about hours UW. Asst. Instructors should have 60 logged dives, again no time at depth. Instructors 100 logged dives...ditto.

Doing the math and following the professional development path, a PADI DM has about 60 logged dives and an A.I. 100, assuming they are on the "professional" path.

No mention of where the dives took place (resort dive is counted the same as a cold water or beach dive) nor of total hours underwater.

I find these minimums really scary. Let's be honest, you'e not even advanced until you've logged a few hundred dives in varying conditions and I don't even count resort diving as one of those conditions. No wonder I don't see many PADI divers at the beaches here.
