The scissors I had to carry around while my jaws were wired shut could cut through solid stainless steel wire - not sure of its guage, but it was rigid. I know they would cut through steel fishing leader....an experiment is in order and I have some old leaders.

These are not the run of the mill shears, though, but are stainless and have survived a few dives.

Doubt if they would do much to heavier rope, but should do OK on the thinner fishing nets. Again, an experiment is in order.
