It's all about being a part of dive community. The BBS is not meant to be profound. The talk is cheap, peppered with some useful information, and yes lots of benign BS. Maybe that's the true meaning of the BBS acronym. It is up to you what you put into it and want to get out of it.
The editors, from my point of view, just try to keep the $&%@ down so nobody gets sick of it.
