Since you have a Scubapro reg, you probably already know that the lifetime warranty is void if you don't get an annual service. For other regs, it depends on many factors. How often were they used? Were they well maintained? I usually get mine serviced at the first sign of wear, especially in the high pressure seat. If it weren't for liability issues, I would buy parts and do the service myself as I did when I worked in a dive shop.
