Anything can always break. That is why 2 of everything is always a good idea. And critical for deco scuba.
If your hose on your O2 bottle had ruptured 1 min into your deco, you would have beed doing your deco off your backgas and it would take a long time, or you would be buddy breathing with your buddy's O2 bottle. That is why and EAN50 bottle combined with an O2 bottle is a good idea. Faster recovery plan. And no buddy breathing.
