After seeing the photos of how destructive the nets are I can't believe they still continue. I know some people have to eat fish, but I am sure there are plenty of less destructive ways to catch them rather than ripping up thousand year old coral reeds in Alaska or drowning dolphins and sea lions off the coast of California or any other habitat that is ruined around the world. When will some people start seeing the negative affects there so called "recoursefull" fishing methods have. I only saw the manta ray during the strong El Nino of 1998 I think. I also remember seeing photos of the Louver getting caught off the Farallon islands I believe. How warm was the water in Southern California that year?
