The funny thing is that many of the new features on the CS versions are really just fluff. OK so maybe we can use some of the stuff some of the time, but most of the agencies that I deal with still run on Photoshop 4. Adobe has a history of releasing upgrades that are designed to add cash flow and not really solve users needs.

But what is a company to do? Especially when the old version does not really need much improvement...

Solution: Add features that you can promote ad essential. Add a microsoftesque licensing method, and make native versions less compatable so that others will need to upgrade to work with you. Make compatable with older versions is an actual option.

Photojock "The CEO wants me to FTP that256 Clut GIF as a JFIF JPEG in RGB or CMYK ASAP for an FPO for that CSS SHTML? Or I can PDF the PSD as a TIFF over DSL with CITT or LZW and XML tags for your RSS CGI JAVA OPI render on the X11 GUI SGI UNIX box?"

Ugh!
