Most of us in the software industry that own or run software companys learned a long time ago that the honor system doesn't work very well.
Add to that that we have a responsibility to our share holders to protect our/their IP and the honor system soon becomes problematic.
Also thing about it this way, people wanting things for nothing or very cheap is what has put the dive industry in the position it is in now.
Well that and the dive industry allowing that to happen.
As Ross pointed out you want something free/cheap theirs pirated versions of software all over the net. If you have no value for you honor or integrity go get one of those.
