We did a pre-dive recon on the site you recommended and found the parking areas and potential entry points to be "dope-dealer central" for this part of Maui. There were some really scary types lurking about (with pit bulls in tow), and several placards posting rewards for vehicles stolen from the parking areas. We figured once someone saw a couple of tourist types go underwater, our rental car would vanish, just like the other vehicles. Had to abort, due to high concentration of (human) sharks.
Talking with some locals afterward, it seems that dope (mainly meth) manufacturing, selling, and using has risen to epidemic proportions in the Lahaina area. But we really tried, Patrick, so again, thanks for your thought.
