Hot day inland = great beach dive day. 1 to 3 foot surf, about 12 second intervals, decent vis, ranged 7 to 10 feet, improved as we got to 40'. Started near the creek by the main guard station, followed the reef out to the South, went W a little, vis went down, so turned E-NE following the reef and kelp line. Saw 1 large bug (figures - they know the off season) and lots of greenlings, senioritas, some spanish shawls, opal eye, blacksmith, crab, etc. Typical great California dive and some really good beach conditions.
On the drive along the coast, saw that the kelp beds at Deer Creek are massive this year...June 11 we dive there.
