Parasites? Or just along for the ride?

I see the same critters riding on the face of just
about all the decent sized lings and cabezon I see,
and even occasionally on big wolf eels. I call them
"ling lice". I don't think they are parasites, I
think they are just along for the ride and some
scraps.
