Yes, Scott, the vis is frequently pretty poor on the Star, with ten feet being a "good" day. We've done several trips where the conditions were so bad that we aborted and made the run back to the south to alternate sites. If you can't see your hand at the end of your arm... The day I took the pictures for my report, visibility was exceptional! I think the Fall, during a nice Santa Ana, is the best time to dive there.
