From what I understood of the attack, it took place at depth, and Mr. Robinson made it back to the swimstep. The two crew members were forward setting the hook in preparation for working a "new" area, while Mr. Robinson used the DPV to do a quick recon of the locale. To the best of my knowledge the crew never saw the fish at the surface.
