Chris, I've been using the Dive Alert in-line with my power inflator for three years with no problems. It's ear splitting loud. On my dry-suit inflator I have a Hammer Head, which is for underwater signaling (quacks like a duck on the surface).
I carry a 3 year old safety sausage too, but I cut off the plastic crap connector hook, which broke, and put on a stainless snap link. Need to replace this with a better lift-bag system of some sort.
I plan to get a mirror too.
