Brass Clip Lubricants - Suggestions Wanted

Hi All,

I have a brass clip that is starting to operate with a little friction. I'd like to spray it with WD-40 or something like that, but I am not sure what works best (and is non-toxic) in the marine environment. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
