A similar question came up on a spearfishing board shortly after the jerk down in La Jolla Cove shot the BSB. There are some that said they would like to shot BSB, but in general the attitude was not to shoot them.
Personally, no way. I rarely go after reef species, and the pelagics I target usually swim away laughing at my botched shot.
