I was fortunate in that my single brush with pushing the NDL limits did not require recompression. I have to feel bad for all the local GUE divers who have pushed the deco limits (not to be confused with NDL) and have ended up in the Pacific Grove recompression facility themselves.

I would not send a diver to Monastery with advice like "make sure you keep your reg in your mouth during your entry." A reg in your mouth is not going to help you if you blow the entry and end up rolling in the breakers there. If you deceive someone into thinking that it will, that is a disservice. There are worse things that wait for you at Monastery than DCI.
