The diver did pass away. Apparently it was evident to paramedics on site that she wasn't going to make it. I've heard various stories here on Catalina, but am not 100% sure of any details I've heard.
It is such a shame that the young daughter had to witness this and has lost her mother. My sympathies go out to the daughter, the family and their friends.
