By The Associated Press

Two men fishing on rocks at Point Vicente in Rancho Palos Verdes were swept to their deaths when a large wave washed them into the ocean, authorities said Monday.
The men, both in their 30s, were with three other family members on the rocks off the Hawthorne Boulevard extension about 7 p.m. Sunday when below Palos Verdes Drive West.
Lifeguards and U.S. Coast Guard officers plucked the men from the water. One was taken by boat to King Harbor in Redondo Beach and pronounced dead at Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Torrance. The other was flown by helicopter to Point Vicente, where he was pronounced dead by paramedics.
Their names were not immediately released.
