"Fish are dying by the thousands in Redondo Beach's King Harbor due to an ongoing algae bloom or "red tide." The nontoxic bloom of phytoplankton stretches along hundreds of miles of coast, and when pushed into enclosed harbors or marinas can starve the water of oxygen and kill fish, a state health department biologist said. City crews continued to remove the stinking, rotting fish from the water Tuesday."
