You should have gone in. The red tide only goes down about 10 to 15'. When you get below the thermocline, the vis opens up, some times 30' or more. Bring a light, very little light gets through and it is like a night dive. You can night dive during daylight hours. I like it, but I really don't know any better. Just like to get wet.
