Good diving skills help a lot with either open
circuit (normal SCUBA) or a rebreather. But the
rebreather helps.

Kelp Greenling are quite skittish. I'd never gotten
a decent picture of one until I got the 'breather,
and then I started to get a few.

The critter that surprised me was jellies. When
you breath out on open circuit, your bubbles move
the water around which relocates and
discombobulate the jelly. That doesn't happen
with the 'breather. I've spent 15 minutes with
my camera in the bell of a pelagia shooting the
little fish that live there. I could never have
done that on open circuit.

'Breathers need to be treated with a great deal
of respect. A CCR introduces five new ways to
make yourself dead (some would say six).
Complacency will kill you.
