Italian Gardens is a rocky slope, with kelp growing in the shallows, down to about 80 feet. You can anchor anywhere along the shore, dropping the hook in 60 feet or more, letting out some scope and seeing how the boat lies in the wind/current. The kelp will be on the surface if no current is present. If you don't see the kelp on the surface, look below and get a feeling for the direction and start your dive into the current, parallel to the shore. Don't forget to look out in the deeper water for BSBs. It's a nice place to dive and last weekend there was a large sardine school up against the shore.
